Smoked BBQ Chicken

  • Preheat smoker to 300 degrees fahrenheit.

  • Under cold water, clean the chicken with salt and pat dry. 

  • Place the bird in a pan and cover all sides with the oil.

  • Place the bird skin side down and season with garlic powder, onion powder, Guard Dawg’s Chile Pepper and Ancho Chile-Mango Spice rubs, salt and pepper. Flip the bird and repeat the seasoning process.

  • Place the chicken on the smoker skin side up for approximately 2 hours. 

  • Remove the chicken from the smoker, and top with honey, brown sugar and butter cut into small slices.

  • Cover pan with tin foil, and place back in the oven for another 30 minutes or until the chicken has reached 165 degrees Fahrenheit internal. 

  • Remove from the smoker and rest for at least 15-20 minutes before slicing.

  • Serve when cooled, and enjoy!
